DIY: Fall Decor for Your New Home

The weather in Texas is slowly starting to cool down which means Fall is almost here (September 22nd) and it is time to switch out the summer décor to fall décor. Not excited to spend a fortune on seasonal decorations? Here are some DIYs that can make it affordable.

DIY Candles: You can go to Dollar tree and pick up some basic candles. Using a hot glue gun, glue the cinnamon sticks around the candle. For the final decoration piece, grab some string and tie a bow around it.

Pumpkin Vases: Use vases that you have around the house for your flowers. On your next grocery trip, pick up some small pumpkins and fill the vases with them. Utilize what you have around the house as this also works with glassware.

Branch Table Center Piece: Cut a branch from a tree (be sure to spray down with water and allow it to dry in your garage or a dry place). Place lengthwise on the table and add miniature gourds or pumpkins and leaves around the branch.

Framed Fall Décor: Use a picture frame and print your décor piece. Place printable in the frame. You can get a “fall” printable from google pictures.

If DIY projects are not your thing, Hobby Lobby and Home Goods are both great places that you can find inexpensive décor pieces. Hobby Lobby usually has their items 50% off and Home Goods has their items marked down. Fall is all about your warm colors – red, orange, and yellow – so be sure to pick up décor that makes it feel snug and warming. Happy Fall!
